Former Obsessions Singer Jackie O Opens Up About Her Transition from Secular Music to Gospel

Jackie O, born Jackie Tusiime, rose to fame as one of the shining stars in the Obsessions dance and music group, which rocked Uganda and East Africa’s entertainment scene in the early 2000s.

The group became a household name with its catchy songs and captivating stage performances, and Jackie O was at the heart of it all.

However, as the years went by, the Obsessions eventually disbanded, bringing Jackie O’s journey in secular music to a close.

She later embraced a new direction in her life, choosing to focus on gospel music and using her voice to inspire faith and spiritual growth.

This unexpected transition left many of her fans wondering what prompted such a bold decision.

In an interview with Sanyuka TV, Jackie O responded with calm and clarity, saying she experienced a turning point.

“There comes a point in life when things happen that cannot be explained by human understanding, and that is when you know God is revealing His power,” she explained.

Speaking about the reaction to her change, Jackie O said that her close friends and family have remained supportive and stood by her throughout the journey.

At the same time, she acknowledged that being a public figure means she is known by many people she has never met.

Some of those people may have formed negative opinions about her transition, but as she noted, she may never truly know.
