Four Arrested, Including Fik Gaza, in Connection to Wave of Robberies in Katwe Division
Popular musician Fik Gaza, whose real name is Shafiq Dangote, has been arrested along with three others in connection with a series of theft-related crimes.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, security forces carried out a planned operation at Fik Gaza’s residence following a rise in robbery cases in and around the Katwe Division.
The operation led to the arrest of four individuals: Fik Gaza, Magoola Najibu, Mutuba David (commonly known as Mavin Gaza), and Zziwa Charles (also known as Mzungu).
During the raid, authorities seized several exhibits, including machetes, military clothing, and substances believed to be narcotics.
Police say that Fik Gaza’s home was also being used as a hideout for suspected criminals.
One of the suspects, Zziwa Charles, is reported to have previously escaped from police custody while facing a murder charge.
All four suspects are now facing formal charges, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
