The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has stepped away from X (formerly Twitter), bringing an end to his decade-long presence on the platform.
Known for his humorous, bold, straightforward, and often controversial posts, the General had become a household name online, drawing both admiration and criticism.

He revealed that he was stepping away under the guidance of his faith to focus on his role in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
In his farewell post, he reflected on the “whirlwind journey” he shared with his followers, expressing his deep love.
He also urged continued support for Uganda, Africa, and his father, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, whom he described as a revolutionary leader.
While his departure leaves a void in his corner of the internet, Gen. Muhoozi hinted at a possible return, promising to rejoin his followers once he has fulfilled his mission of bringing lasting peace to the region.
For now, his exit marks the end of an era for his loyal audience, who followed him through every bold, and sometimes controversial, post.
