Geosteady Joins Growing List of Politically Neutral Performers
In a surprising revelation, Ugandan vocalist Geosteady says he has no problem performing at rallies for any political party, as long as the call comes.
Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut, the “Owooma” star made it clear he is open to performing for both the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
I can sing for NUP, and I can sing for NRM. I am a musician, not a politician. I make music. So wherever they call me to perform for people, I will just thank Allah for the opportunity.
He stressed that, while he is willing to perform anywhere, politics is a line he will not cross.
I do not like involving myself in things I do not understand. Personally, politics is something I see and pay no mind.
Geosteady’s remarks place him among a growing list of Ugandan artistes, including Ronald Mayinja, Pretty Banks, and Jowy Landa, who have openly declared their readiness to perform at any political event.
