Gift Your Men This Valentine’s, Sheilah Gashumba Urges Women
The Valentine’s Day conversation has taken a new turn, with more voices speaking up for the boy child.
It began when NBS TV news anchor and reporter Nalumu Irene questioned why women often expect flowers and gifts yet rarely feel the need to reciprocate.
Who told women that they’re the only ones to receive flowers on Valentine’s?😏 pic.twitter.com/EW0pF3iDnp

Now popular media personality Sheilah Gashumba has echoed similar sentiments.
Taking to X, Sheilah criticized what she sees as one sided expectations around February 14.
She argued that love is not meant to flow in one direction, with only one partner receiving gifts and attention.
She encouraged women to also appreciate caring and respectful partners, stressing that men deserve to feel valued too.
Another Valentine’s Day for entitled and ungrateful women to think it’s only them who deserve to be gifted and spoilt!! Love is a two way street not a one way street 💕 Be thoughtful to your caring, kind and respectful partners too . They need to feel the love too!

Both posts struck a nerve, drawing a wave of reactions from the girl child.
In the comment sections, some agreed with the sentiments and backed the call for balance, while others pushed back hard.
With February 14 around the corner, it remains to be seen whether anything will change this year.
