Gloria Bugie Bags International Award, But Where Are the BETs and Grammys?

Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie kicked off 2025 with one mission: bring BET Awards and Grammys to her homeland.

A bold promise? Absolutely. Impossible? Perhaps.

All year, interviewers asked about her love life, her hobbies, and plans to have children, but she always gave the same answer: “No time for distractions. I am focused on winning international honors.”

And now, she can check one “international” box.

Gloria recently posted a video of herself holding a Zikoma African Award, captioned:

I am busy representing Uganda musically worldwide as they do the talking. Thank you Zikoma African Awards for acknowledging Ugandan talent.

The fifth edition of the awards took place on December 17, 2025, at the Super Dome in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The category she won? Still a mystery, but the trophy is shiny and real. That is progress, right?

Now, with just about two weeks left in 2025, fans are asking the real questions: Where are the BETs? Where are the Grammys? Did the universe forget her calendar?

Let us be honest: if anyone could bend the rules of music and physics to make the impossible happen, it is Gloria Bugie.
