Gloria Bugie Reveals How Female Artistes Can Avoid Inappropriate Advances

Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie has opened up about the uncomfortable situations some female artistes face behind closed studio doors.

While appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, the “Nyash” hitmaker addressed claims that certain producers make unwanted advances during recording sessions.

She explained that such incidents often happen when artistes are unsure of how to handle business.

In her view, the studio should be treated as a workplace, not a favor zone.

She stressed that music production is a paid service, not something free and certainly not charity.

An artiste who wants a song recorded should come prepared to pay for it.

According to Bugie, once someone is being paid for a service, there is no reason for them to switch the arrangement into something inappropriate.

They do that to people who are naive or who do not know what to do. If you know what you want, first of all you go with money because there is no free service anywhere. It is not charity. If you want something, you pay for it. So I do not think you can pay someone to work and then they divert into something else.
