Golola Says Corporate Boxing Is No Joke After Rickman vs Shakib

Corporate boxing is quickly becoming a hot trend in Uganda.

In less than a year, fans have witnessed about four major bouts, but the recent showdown between singer Rickman Manrick and socialite Shakib Cham has changed many people’s perceptions.

While some had dismissed corporate boxing as mere playful entertainment, Ugandan kickboxing legend Golola Moses believes Rickman vs. Shakib on August 30 proved the critics wrong.

During an interview with Daily Soup, Golola applauded both men for bringing professionalism to the ring.

I want to thank Shakib and Rickman for putting up a boxing performance. Many thought the boxing was just playful. They thought corporate boxing was just for show.

Golola also praised Shakib’s effort despite losing to Rickman, and he had kind words for Zari Hassan, who stood by her man throughout the fight.

I was very happy that Zari posted saying, ‘Do not joke with my man. If you want to know that he is tough, just attack him and see.’ Having someone that encourages you is nice. Me, no one encourages me. People just look at me and then they go and sleep.

For Golola, Shakib and Rickman showed that with the right spirit, corporate boxing can be as competitive as the real thing.
