Gospel Star Damasco Ssesanga Defends Secular Collaborations
The conversation about gospel artistes working with secular musicians has taken another turn, this time with input from Damasco Ssesanga.
Speaking on Sanyuka Tunnyuke, the gospel singer said the real focus should be on the message behind the music rather than the category it falls under.
In his view, collaboration is not a problem if the content remains positive and respectful to faith and personal values.
Music remains music. If we have a message we are putting across, and it does not demean faith or demean me, and it sends a positive message to the people, then why not?
His comments come as the debate over gospel and secular collaborations continues to divide opinion among fans.
