Grace Nakimera Opens Up on Her Journey of Faith and Transformation
Grace Nakimera has opened up about the spiritual transformation that changed the course of her life, from a mainstream pop star to a committed gospel minister.
The singer, once known for her chart-topping secular hits, became a born-again Christian around early 2018.
Since then, she has transitioned to gospel music and dedicated her life to serving God.
Her commitment was further deepened by a series of personal challenges, including spiritual attacks and a health crisis, which she publicly discussed in interviews in 2019 and 2022.
Looking back at her past during an appearance on NBS Mission 3:16, Grace acknowledged that she did not always respond to difficult situations in ways that reflect the values she now upholds.
Back in the day, forgiving people was never an option. If somebody hurt you, why would you forgive them? You had to show them. You had to prove them. Revenge was the way.
But after giving her life to Christ, Nakimera said she began to understand the deeper meaning of forgiveness and the importance of spiritual growth.
I learned that even when someone hurts you, you cannot save yourself. The one who saves is Christ, and He needs you to forgive the people who hurt you. I also learned how to be strong.
The “Onyambanga” hit-maker now uses her platform to encourage others walking the path of faith.
She emphasized that while God provides strength and guidance, personal discipline and prayer are also crucial.
Even if God is helping you through a situation, you must have strong will power within Christ. You have to know who you are in Him, and be firm in that. You also have to learn how to pray.
