Hannah Karema Reflects on Guild Loss, Says Mission Is Not Over

Former Miss Uganda Hannah Karema Tumukunde has reflected on her leadership bid after her Makerere Guild presidential election loss, thanking supporters while reaffirming her commitment to education reform.

In a message shared on her socials, Karema expressed gratitude to her team, known as the Rebooters, for backing her vision.

I want to extend my sincere appreciation to you for believing in my candidature and for championing our agenda of Rebooting the Ivory Tower. The numbers we garnered spoke for the kind of leadership Makerereans envision.

Despite the loss, she maintained a resilient tone and made it clear her journey is far from over.

This is not the end nor the beginning. It is the end of the beginning.

She urged her supporters to stay united and continue serving beyond formal leadership roles, while keeping her focus on broader change.

It is time for us to recollect ourselves and continue to offer selfless service… We will keep pushing to reboot Uganda’s education system.

She closed her message with a brief but determined sign off.

Onto the next!
