A$AP Rocky has shared a surprising detail about his love story with Rihanna, saying his mother wanted them together long before it happened.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, the American rap star revealed that while he and Rihanna were still just friends, his mum already saw something special.
He said she even advised him to leave a woman he was dating at the time and go for Rihanna instead.
Rocky explained that he did not take the advice back then because he only saw Rihanna as a friend.
He also believes the timing was not right, since he was not ready for serious commitment and Rihanna was also not at that stage.
Looking back now, Rocky says he is glad they did not rush into anything.
According to him, their relationship worked because it started when both of them were truly ready.
Rihanna has always been my boo. I have always f***ed with her. My mother used to tell me, “I know you like the girl you are with right now, but I want you with Riri.” I would tell her Rihanna was just a friend, but my mother insisted Rihanna was a real one and that I should go for her. Mothers know best. Still, I am glad my relationship with Rihanna started when it did, because if it happened earlier, I do not think I was ready for something like that. I do not think she was either.
