How Sir Shina Peters Faked Madness to Win Back Fans

Nigerian Afro-Juju legend Sir Shina Peters has revealed the bold stunt that helped him recover after leaving Prince Adekunle’s band.

The “Ace” crooner faced backlash for quitting, with fans accusing him of betraying his mentor for money.

To win public sympathy, his team came up with an unusual plan.

Sir Shina spent three days braiding his hair and wore torn clothes while being filmed in public.

At Oyingbo Market, he was recorded buying ewedu, and later in Badagry, he pretended to be mentally unstable at a construction site.

All of that was done to change people’s narratives and earn empathy from fans,” he said on The Honest Bunch Podcast.

The strategy worked. Fans softened, the anger faded, and Sir Shina rebuilt his reputation as a solo artist.

His story proves that in the music world, a well-timed stunt can completely turn the tide.
