I Do Not Care About Old People When Making Music — Kapeke
Ugandan hitmaker Kapeke has opened up about the thinking behind his music, revealing that his creative focus is firmly on the youth.
Speaking during an appearance on Flexx, the “Simanyi” star made it clear that when he steps into the studio, he is not trying to impress everyone.
According to him, he deliberately tunes out older audiences and instead creates with people his age and younger in mind.
Usually, when I am doing a song or making a song, I do not care about old people. I focus more on people my age, 27 years old and below.
And by all indications, the strategy is paying off.
Kapeke’s music continues to resonate strongly with young people, dominating hangout playlists and enjoying heavy rotation in social spaces.
His songs regularly trend on TikTok, inspiring challenges and user generated content that push his music even further.
For Kapeke, connecting with young people is his blueprint, and so far, it is working.
