“I Don’t Think It Has Even Reached the Naalya Roundabout” – Beewol Critiques Bebe Cool’s “Circumference”
Singer Bebe Cool’s latest release, “Circumference,” the first single from his highly anticipated album Break The Chains, has generated a wave of reactions.
While the song has sparked excitement in some corners of the Ugandan music scene, it has also faced criticism, with varying opinions emerging from fans and influencers alike.
One notable reaction comes from social media influencer and personality Bernard Ewalu Olupot, also known as ‘Beewol’ online, who expressed his thoughts on the song’s impact or lack thereof.
According to Beewol, Circumference has yet to make significant waves, particularly outside of a small geographic area.
In a lighthearted but pointed social media post, he shared that the song “has not gone past a 5-mile radius outside Ntinda, Kiwatule, and the surrounding areas.”
Beewol further humorously added that he did not think the song had even reached the Naalya Roundabout, implying that its reach has been limited.
This post adds a layer of critique to the broader conversation surrounding the song, especially considering Bebe Cool’s bold statements during the song’s press launch.
The veteran artiste declared that he was setting a new standard for Ugandan music.
“If anyone is out there asking, ‘Why now?’ let me make this very clear: I have got nothing to prove. Not politically, not culturally, not financially, and certainly not musically,” he said.
Despite this strong stance, Beewol’s remarks suggest that the song may not be making the kind of widespread impact that Bebe Cool had hoped for.
For some, the song’s reception has been mixed.
While some listeners have praised it, others feel that Bebe Cool is trying to emulate the Nigerian sound.
There is also a faction of disappointed fans, left wondering whether the song lives up to the expectations set by the artiste himself.
Beewol’s comment, however, might reflect a deeper sentiment in the Ugandan music scene, one that questions whether Bebe Cool’s music is truly breaking new ground or merely staying within familiar territories.
As the debate continues to unfold, only time will tell if Bebe Cool’s Circumference, produced by Nigerian Afrobeats star PhilKeyz, will go beyond the radius that Beewol mentions and make a lasting impact on a wider audience.
It appears Bebe Cool's Circumference has not made any rounds. The song hasn't gone past a 5-mile radius outside Ntinda, Kiwatule & surrounding areas. I don't think it's even reached the Naalya Round-about. Perhaps he needs to circle back & focus on his political career.
