Inside the Double Life of Architect-Turned Music Star Faymous

In the heart of Kampala, a rare creative force is quietly blurring the line between blueprints and beats.

Faymous, born Brian Matsiko, is proving that a demanding professional career and a passion for music can coexist.

His story begins in Mbarara City, where discipline and ambition shaped his early years.

He was a standout student at Kitabi Seminary, topping his class before earning a government sponsorship to Makerere University.

There, he spent five years studying architecture, laying the foundation for a career that now sees him working as a professional architect.

Alongside his work in design, Faymous steadily built his music career.

He officially entered the scene in 2018 with his debut single “Tegumala.”

In 2020, he took a deliberate step back from music to focus on personal growth and professional development, a move that would later define his artistic maturity.

His return in 2025 has been anything but quiet. Faymous reintroduced himself to the industry through a series of collaborations that quickly gained traction.

These include “Gundeeze” featuring Kataleya & Kandle, “Kigwo (Remix)” featuring Geosteady, and “Oli Wange” featuring Nina Roz.

Each release reflected a more confident and refined sound.

Now based in Kampala and working under Ray Pan Management, Faymous continues to grow his catalog, which includes fan favorites like “Otukubanyo.”

By day, he contributes to shaping the city through architecture. By night, he creates music that resonates with its people.

Faymous stands as a clear example that with focus and drive, success in both structured design and creative expression is not only possible, but sustainable.
