Izon T Says Ugandan Music Does Go International, Points to His Song “Masanyalaze”

To anyone claiming that Ugandan music does not cross borders, Izon T has a message for you.

While appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, the Ugandan recording artiste revealed that his song Masanyalaze is gaining traction beyond Uganda’s borders.

I checked SongBoost, and it showed me that my song is playing in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Rwanda.

What stood out most to him was the reception in Nigeria, a market known for its high musical standards and tough competition.

Nigeria is one of those countries that are really selective when it comes to music. So if my song is playing there, it means I did something great.

Izon T used the moment to directly address critics who claim Ugandan musicians do not make it internationally.

All those who have been saying that we do not go international should come and consult with me.

With streaming data and growing airplay across the continent, Izon T is standing firm in his belief that Ugandan artists are capable of going international and are already doing so.
