Jackie Chandiru Backs Gloria Bugie’s Voice Against Critics
Rising Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie has faced critics over her music and voice ever since she began her career.
Some have said she sounds like a success card on her songs, while others have criticized her fashion choices, especially during performances that some consider inappropriate.
However, Ugandan vocalist Jackie Chandiru sees things differently.
In a sit-down with Shalom 256, the ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker said she finds Gloria Bugie’s ways entertaining and highlighted the uniqueness of her voice.
I have listened to Gloria Bugie. She has her other things that she does that make me happy because she knows she must shine, but she has a very unique quality to her voice.
Jackie also addressed the claim that Gloria sounds like a success card while singing, stating that the comment applies more to her speaking voice than her singing.
When she is talking she is a success card… But when you get her the right production, the right producer… she has notes she can hit that I cannot hit.
She added that Gloria Bugie possesses distinctive vocal qualities that set her apart from other singers.
She is not the best singer but she has distinctive qualities vocally when she is singing, not talking. I am not saying she is the best singer, quote me right… but she has specific or distinctive qualities vocally that separate her from the rest.
With these remarks, Jackie joins other musicians like David Lutalo and the B2C Soldiers in publicly defending and endorsing Gloria Bugie amid the ongoing criticism she faces.
