The Edge Old Music Has Over New Songs, According to Jacob Omutuuze

Old Ugandan songs are getting another lease of life, and Jacob Omutuuze believes their lasting appeal comes down to the meaning behind the music.

The Ugandan DJ and media personality shared his thoughts during an appearance on Sanyuka Uncut, where he reflected on the renewed interest in songs from earlier generations.

He believes many of those songs continue to resonate because they carried messages that stayed with listeners long after the music came out.

So many people love listening to old music because it has meaning, and that is why old music is now coming back.

Jacob’s comments come as veteran Ugandan singer Grace Nakimera prepares to return to the concert stage with her September 11 show at Kampala Serena Hotel.

He believes Nakimera’s rich musical history gives her enough to draw fans to the concert, saying her legacy speaks for itself.
