Jacob Omutuze criticizes Ugandan musicians for thinking short term

Jacob had a lot to say during his appearance on Vvaawo Mpitewo Sabula on Sanyuka TV.

According to him, Ugandan musicians are too focused on short-term gains and often fail to consider how their decisions will affect them in the long run.

He explained that many musicians are easily swayed by money and get involved in political projects without thinking about how it might harm their careers in the future.

Jacob pointed out that this “grab the money now, think later” attitude is a big problem for the industry.

He did not hold back when discussing why some concerts struggle to attract large crowds.

In his view, politics is to blame, as it brings negative energy and creates division among fans and artistes.

However, it is not just politics stirring up drama. Jacob also noted that media personalities play a part in the industry’s love-hate relationships.

When a media personality reports something negative about an artiste, it stirs emotions among fans, creating tension.

Despite this, he was quick to defend them, emphasizing that media personalities are simply doing their jobs by reporting both the positive and negative aspects of the industry.

Jacob concluded by expressing his frustrations about the lack of rules and regulations in Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Without proper guidelines, he believes the industry will continue to struggle, making it challenging for musicians to grow.
