Jamal Warns Artistes Against Using Conflicts for Publicity, Calls It a Dead End

Veteran singer Jamal Wasswa has made it clear that he is not a fan of conflicts in the music industry, emphasizing that they add no real value to the art or to the artistes who create it.

Speaking to Sanyuka TV, the “Omusomesa” hitmaker urged fellow musicians to focus on creating good music instead of chasing unnecessary drama.

He questioned the logic behind stirring up conflict every time a song is released, saying it simply does not make sense.

“There is no need for it. Will you create a fight every time you release a song?” he asked.

Jamal also criticized artistes who rely on controversy to remain relevant, warning that music built on drama does not stand the test of time.

“I do not believe a good song becomes popular because of controversy. If a song gains popularity due to chaos, it will not last. When the chaos fades, so does the song,” he explained.

His advice comes at a time when publicity stunts and staged conflicts have become common among artistes seeking attention or trying to stay in the spotlight.

For him, however, the formula for lasting success is simple: let the music speak for itself.
