Joeboy Advises New Artistes to Use TikTok for Promotion
Nigerian singer Joeboy says it has become harder for new artistes to break into the music industry.
Speaking during an interview with Jay On-Air, the “Sip (Alcohol)” hitmaker explained that the industry has changed and now demands more than just good music.
According to him, artistes today must also build strong personalities online and remain active on social media to get noticed.
I genuinely feel for artistes that are trying to go mainstream right now because unlike before, it takes a lot more and it now depends on your personality and all of that. Because right now you have to be on everybody’s faces and all of that.
He said that in the past, having good music, strong branding, and proper marketing could help an artiste reach the mainstream.
However, he believes the current music landscape requires much more effort.
Back then, if you have a great music, a great brand behind you and great marketing, the chances of you popping up was really higher. But now, it demands way more than that.
Joeboy added that many new artistes must now constantly promote themselves online and remain visible to audiences.
He advised upcoming musicians to take advantage of platforms like TikTok to promote their music and connect with listeners.
Despite the challenges, Joeboy encouraged young artistes to remain creative and use digital platforms to grow their careers.
