Joshua Baraka Explains Why He Performs More Abroad Than at Home and Defends His High Rate Card

Singer Joshua Baraka has addressed concerns about his high performance fees and his preference for performing abroad more frequently than in Uganda.

Many promoters and fans have voiced frustration over the difficulty of booking Baraka for local shows, often citing his rates as too high.

In response, Baraka rejected claims that he is difficult to book, acknowledging that while some may find his fees expensive, he believes his rate card is fair, considering the time and effort he invests in his music.

He pointed out in an interview that some individuals either cannot afford his fees or simply choose not to pay them.

On the topic of performing more abroad than in Uganda, Baraka explained that he sees no risk in this.

He clarified that as music is his business, he cannot accept every gig if it does not make financial sense.

Baraka emphasized that performing at every available opportunity just to show face would not be beneficial in the long run.

He concluded by affirming that he will continue setting his price confidently, knowing that those who can afford it will book him.

Meanwhile, he remains dedicated to improving his music and building his brand until people recognize that he is truly worth his rate card.
