Joshua Baraka Outshines Everyone at Blankets & Wine Nairobi

Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka lit up Nairobi with a powerful performance at the Blankets and Wine festival on September 28.

The event, held at Laureate Gardens in Kasarani’s Moi International Sports Centre, featured big names like Nigerian Grammy winner Tems and Kenya’s Chimano of Sauti Sol fame.

But Baraka emerged as the night’s biggest star.

The 24-year-old owned the stage during a 20 minute set, performing favourites including “Scared” and “Wrong Places.”

Even with sound problems, his energy and live vocals kept the crowd hooked.

Clips on X showed him shouting, “I love you, Nairobi,” before giving two encores.

Fans called it the best performance of the night.

One tweeted, “Joshua Baraka ate that stage,” while another wrote, “Most memorable performance of the evening he outshone everyone even Tems.”

Baraka shared on X, “I almost shed a tear from the love. Nairobi, you’re unreal.

With a European tour ahead, Joshua Baraka is proving he is East Africa’s next big music export, taking Uganda’s sound to the world.
