Joshua Baraka Reflects on Festival That Made Him Feel “Celebrated”
Joshua Baraka has opened up about what it meant to perform at Afro Nation Portugal 2025, calling it a career-defining moment.

Yo, that was such a crazy experience, like just being in the same space with a lot of these really big artistes. It was really affirming and really made me feel very good. I was just happy to be there. I really felt celebrated, and it was a really big milestone in my journey.
The festival, which ran from July 9 to July 11, featured a star-studded lineup including Burna Boy, Tems, Davido, Mary J. Blige, and amapiano heavyweights such as Scorpion Kings and Uncle Waffles.
Despite a last-minute absence by Chris Brown, Afro Nation Portugal maintained its reputation as a world-class platform, giving emerging stars like Baraka the chance to shine alongside international stars.
