Joshua Baraka Speaks Out on His Rapid Rise: ‘It Is Crazy, Bro’

Fast-rising Ugandan star Joshua Baraka is living every young artiste’s dream, and he knows it.

From the Pearl of Africa to Kenya, Nigeria, and far beyond, his sound is spreading fast and proving unstoppable.

At just 24, the hitmaker has watched his fan base explode.

His Spotify monthly listeners now stand at an impressive 895,300, a staggering leap from where he started only a few years ago.

His latest single, “Wrong Places,” released in May 2025, has already crossed 5 million streams on Spotify, while the lyric video has soared past 7.5 million views on YouTube in only three months.

Speaking on Rwanda TV, Baraka admitted the rapid success still feels surreal.

Man, it is crazy, bro. It is crazy because just a few years ago, I was averaging maybe a thousand monthly listeners or 250, you know. But now I am in the hundreds of thousands, and it is an amazing experience. It has been a journey, and I cannot even imagine where I will be when I celebrate 15 years…

Joshua Baraka’s rise from barely a thousand listeners to nearly a million in such a short time is nothing short of phenomenal.

His mix of humility and excitement is winning over fans just as fast as his music racks up streams.
