Why Juliana Does Not Fancy a Music Battle With Iryn Namubiru
When asked on Deep Talk which Ugandan female artist she would choose for a music battle among Cindy Sanyu, Sheebah Karungi and Iryn Namubiru, Juliana Kanyomozi picked Iryn.
Yet the answer had little to do with competition.
Instead, Juliana used the moment to explain how she views music and the people she has shared that journey with.
I do not like the word battle. If it was Iryn and I on the same stage, it would be more of a celebration of music and artistry.

Her response carries added meaning given the journey the two artists have shared.
After launching their careers together in I-Jay, Juliana and Namubiru experienced a public fallout that strained their friendship for years. Time eventually healed the rift, allowing them to reconnect and rebuild their relationship.
With that chapter behind them, Juliana now sees the idea of sharing a stage with Iryn as a celebration of the music they created together rather than a contest.
