Kapa Cat Says a Relationship Works Best When Both Partners Are Equal
Ugandan singer Kapa Cat is opening up about her views on relationships, love, and personal boundaries.
During a sit-down with YouTuber Nambwayo Mary, she shared what she expects from a partner and how she balances respect and independence in love.
The “Sikyo” hitmaker emphasized the importance of self-reliance in a relationship.
She explained that while she works hard and does not rely on a man to solve her problems, she appreciates support that comes from genuine love.
I do not look to a man to solve all my problems. I work, but if he wants to help me out, that is a plus. It is beautiful. I want someone who helps out of love, not out of a sense of entitlement.
She warned against relationships where one partner does everything for the other, noting that such imbalances often breed resentment.
I do not want a man who will despise me, and a man who does everything for you will despise you, like it or not. It goes both ways: if a woman is well-off compared to a man and helps him with a lot of things, she will despise him, and vice versa.
Kapa Cat believes a healthy partnership is built on mutual respect and equality between both partners.
I like being in a relationship where we are all on the same level, give each other respect, and listen to each other. I do not want a situation where one feels they can do something and the other cannot or should not. What you give me is what I give you in return.
While she describes herself as peaceful, she made it clear that she will defend herself when necessary.
I am a very peaceful person. I am very nice, but I am also capable of being violent. What someone gets from me is what they give me.
She added that everyone has limits, and reactions depend on how they are treated.
Someone out there will tell you that I am very sweet because they are sweet to me. Then someone else will say that I am very violent because they are violent to me. And this is not just about me but about everyone else: when you overwhelm someone, they will react.
Kapa Cat ended by stressing her fearlessness and determination to stand up for herself.
It is just that some people pretend or are scared to react, but some of us were not created with fear. I will stand up for myself at any time.
