Kapeke Declines Performing at Political Rallies

As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, many politicians are turning to musicians to boost their campaign strategies.

While several artistes are eager to cash in on the opportunity, trending singer Kapeke is not one to play along.

In a recent media interview, the “Kaba” hit-maker made it clear that he will not perform at political rallies or campaign events, regardless of the party involved.

He explained that although he has personal political affiliations, he prefers to keep politics separate from his music career.

I do not involve myself in political issues.

Kapeke emphasized that he built his music career without support from any political figure or party, and he intends to keep it that way.

While many believe that politics affects everyone regardless of profession, he maintains that his role is to entertain, not to campaign.

When asked whether there are other events he would turn down, he said no.

I can perform anywhere else, as long as the deposit is paid in advance and the balance is cleared right before the performance. It is only political events I do not take part in.
