Kapeke Explains Why He Keeps Fans Waiting for New Songs

Kapeke, one of Uganda’s trending artistes, is taking his time with new music, and fans are beginning to understand why.

This year, he has released only three songs.

He started with a collaboration with Karole Kasita called “Setting,” followed it up with “Kaba,” which quickly became a dance floor favorite, and most recently released “Simanyi.”

In an interview with Rewind, Kapeke said he does not want to overwhelm fans with too much music at once.

He prefers to let listeners enjoy each track fully before giving them the next.

Spacing out releases, he said, keeps fans eager and ensures every song gets the attention it deserves.

I do not want to kill people. My music can kill people. I do not want to suffocate them with too much music. I want them to feed little by little, but when it comes, it is big. I gave them ‘Setting,’ then ‘Kaba,’ which everyone has danced to this year, and that means they are satisfied. When they start getting hungry again and ask, ‘Kapeke, where is the new song?’ I give it to them. I know how to give.
