Kapeke Reveals How He Avoids Political Gigs

Kapeke has finally opened up about why he has never performed at political rallies.

In an interview with Rewind, the Ugandan music star revealed that he intentionally charges high fees to avoid singing for parties that approach him.

I charge them a lot of money, and I do it intentionally because I do not want to go there. The people who call me, I do not want to sing for them.

But while Kapeke avoids most political events, he confirmed that he only performs for his party.

Though he refused to disclose the party’s name, he teased that fans will find out when it begins campaigning in Kampala.

I sing for my political party. Just wait when they are campaigning in Kampala, you will see me.

Kapeke also shared his thoughts on musicians stepping into politics, showing support for those taking the leap.

I think it is time. The musicians who are contesting are at that age of contesting in politics. They are old, not new.

When it comes to his own political ambitions, Kapeke left the door open.

You never know because it is God who decides. But at this age, I am still entertaining and making people dance. I still want to be where I am.

With this stance, Kapeke makes it clear that politics may be part of his world, but for now, keeping fans dancing comes first.
