Kapeke Takes Pride in Writing All His Songs, Claims No Songwriter Can Pull Off His Style

Fast-rising singer Kapeke, whose real name is Nsubuga Derrick, recently spoke in a media interview about his creative process, making it clear that he does not rely on songwriters or ghostwriters.

He proudly stated in a media interview that he has written 100 percent of the songs he has released.

“Remember, my style of music is called Kimalufa, and not everyone can handle it. I also do not like having songs written for me because I am fully capable of writing on my own,” he said.

Kapeke went on to explain that he never writes lyrics beforehand.

Instead, he creates his music on the spot while standing in front of the microphone in the studio.

He emphasized that his music is guided by the audience’s preferences, and he always aims to produce songs he believes people want to hear.
