Kapere Opens Up About Feeling Abandoned by Fellow Comedians
Ugandan comedian Kapere has sent a blunt message to some of his fellow comedians, saying they should not show up for him in death if they cannot support him while he is alive.
Kapere, born Yokana Mbuuse, recently shared his frustration with members of the comedy industry, including Alex Muhangi, accusing some colleagues of staying away during difficult moments in his life.
When I die, do not come. Because you are not present in my life. It seems you want me dead.
Despite the disappointment, Kapere also took a moment to appreciate the one person he says has remained by his side.
He thanked his wife, Maama Trump, for loving and supporting him regardless of his physical appearance.
I want to thank my wife Maama Trump for loving me despite my looks.
Kapere’s message has since drawn renewed attention to how entertainers show up for each other beyond the stage.
