Karole Kasita Reveals Why Her ‘Vocal Singing’ Era Failed

Dancehall star Karole Kasita has opened up about her journey to finding the sound that truly fit her.

Speaking to Gossip Live, Kasita revealed that before dancehall made her a household name, she tried out different music genres, including vocal singing and love songs.

However, she later realised it was not working, not because she lacked talent, but because it did not match who she is.

Kasita said her personality is naturally loud and bold, yet the love songs made her look and sound like someone she is not.

As a result, she felt the music was not connecting with the public the way she hoped.

That is what pushed her to switch to dancehall, a move she says changed everything and made people finally appreciate her style.

I used to do different genres. I even used to sing vocally. I would really sing, but I do not think it matched my character because my character is loud. When people saw and heard me sing love songs, it would not connect. That part of me did not work out for me. But when I went dancehall, it is when people received me.

Despite her dancehall image, Kasita insists her real personality is far from the rough vibe many people attach to the genre.

I look dancehall, but my personality is not rough in any way. Not at all.
