Kasuku Faults Promoter Norbert In Weasel Confrontation
The highly anticipated Memories of Goodlyfe concert took a dramatic turn when Weasel Manizo, the remaining member of the iconic Goodlyfe Crew, found himself in a heated confrontation with promoter Norbert.
During an interview on Uncut, Kasuku, the outspoken entertainment critic, shared his insights into the situation. He believes that much of the tension between musicians and promoters stems from money and the attitudes of some promoters.
Kasuku noted that many promoters develop a sense of superiority over the artists they are meant to support. He emphasized that musicians invest significant time and resources into their careers before promoters become involved, including creating and recording music, producing videos, and building their brand.
When promoters, who typically come in later to manage the event, start to see themselves as more important than the artists, it often leads to conflicts and complications.
This seemed to be the case with promoter Norbert, who allegedly told Weasel that he “just helped him.”
Kasuku highlighted the insensitivity of such a comment, stating, “You don’t tell that to a broken man,” and emphasized that Weasel is going through a difficult time.
Kasuku acknowledged that financial disagreements between musicians and promoters are common, but the approach to resolving them is crucial. He stressed that if a promoter addresses the issue respectfully and provides a clear explanation, it is usually easier to reach an understanding.
In Weasel’s case, Kasuku felt that Norbert’s approach was inappropriate and contributed to the confrontation.
