Keko Declares Herself the G.O.A.T. of Ugandan Hip-Hop
Ugandan rapper Keko, born Tracey Jocelyn Keko, has staked her claim at the top of the country’s female rap scene, making it clear that she sees no real competition.
In a recent media interview, the “Mutima” hitmaker declared that no other female rapper in Uganda comes close to matching her skill or legacy.
Speaking about the current crop of female emcees, Keko described them as being in the early stages of their artistic journeys.
“I am the G.O.A.T. of this thing,” she declared, leaving no doubt about who she believes the greatest of all time is.
She also addressed comparisons with fellow rapper Recho Rey, brushing off any assumption that they are equals in the game.
“She is still young. She is still trying to discover her voice, and I already did that a long time ago,” Keko said.
Looking ahead, she revealed that she is currently working on her second studio album.
Her debut album, Strides, was released in 2016 under Sony Music Entertainment Africa.
