King Micheal Says Having 20 Hits Means Nothing Without a Classic
Veteran dancehall and reggae artiste King Micheal has weighed in on the trending debate around hit songs, offering a different take on what really matters in music.
The conversation started after Pallaso claimed he has over 20 hit songs and challenged fans to name other Ugandan artistes with similar numbers, excluding Jose Chameleone, Bobi Wine, Sheebah Karungi, Goodlyfe Crew, and Eddy Kenzo.

As fans flooded social media with lists, King Micheal shifted attention away from the numbers and pointed to how quickly positions can change in music.
He said he has 20 hit songs. Others even started listing their 20, 30, 40, or even 5 hits. But what I can say, as King Micheal, is that music is like a race. One can overtake the other. The one in first place can drop to third.
He went on to stress that the real value lies in having a timeless song, not stacking up hits.
I want to assure people in the music industry that you may say you have 20 hits, but thank God if among your songs there is what they call a classic song. A classic song does not know your 20, 40, or 50 hits. If God blesses you with a classic song, you should be proud.

Drawing from his own experience, he said having classics carries more weight than competing over numbers.
Me, I have three or four classics. Others, however much they pretend and beat around the bush, should just pray to also have a classic song. A classic song is one that cuts across all generations, and that is King Micheal. As they fight and debate, I already passed the threshold.
His remarks add a new angle to the ongoing debate, shifting focus from hit counts to lasting impact.
