KS Alpha Says He Never Quit Music, Only Changed Strategy
Veteran Ugandan artiste KS Alpha has pushed back against claims that he stepped away from music, insisting he never took a break.
Once a dominant name in the industry, the Afro-reggae and dancehall singer has recently stayed out of the spotlight, leading many to assume he had shifted focus.
But speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, KS Alpha said the reality is different, explaining that he only changed his approach while staying active.
I did not take a break. However, I changed the way I do things, and people who really follow me know that even the music has changed a bit, but I have not lost track of the goal. As time passes, you cannot keep doing the same thing. Even in business, you cannot do it the same way you were doing it 20 years ago.
He also pointed to his longevity, noting that his music stretches across generations.
I have songs that are older than some of the artistes. We have artistes who are 20 or 22 years old, yet I have songs that are over 24 or 25 years old.
To further dismiss claims that he is inactive, the singer highlighted recent moves, including a concert he held late last year.
I even had a concert in December, late last year at the National Theatre. I am around and still working.
Despite reduced visibility, KS Alpha insists he remains active and focused, continuing to evolve with time.
