Kusasira Defends Her Natural Look and Simple Attire at Recent Concert: ‘My Husband’s Approval Meant the Most’

Singer Catherine Kusasira has addressed criticism over her choice of attire at her recently concluded Roots of Catherine Kusasira in Old is Gold concert.

The “Wafuka Bikadde” hitmaker surprised many when she appeared on stage in simple attire, with only lipstick for makeup.

In her response, Kusasira explained that her natural look was intentional and practical.

She noted that makeup would have been unsuitable because of her tendency to sweat heavily on stage.

“I sweat a lot, so makeup would have run down my face, and I could not bear the thought of being embarrassed like that on stage. Therefore, I chose to go for a natural look,” she explained.

Her choice of attire also drew attention, with some critics dismissing her outfits as fake.

However, Kusasira defended her decision, emphasizing that the concert was about her music, not her wardrobe. She added that the only approval that mattered was her husband’s.

“To those who think my outfits were fake, I ask for your forgiveness. What matters most to me, however, is that my husband valued and appreciated every single one of them,” she said, adding that he constantly complimented her as looking “very smart.”

Kusasira also shared the unique challenges she faces as a plus-size woman. Finding suitable clothes, she said, is often difficult and expensive.

Despite the backlash, she thanked those who appreciated her efforts, stating that she does not care about the opinions of others.
