Lady Mariam Says Her Tindatine Performance Fee Is Enough to Book Three Top Ugandan Artistes
Lady Mariam is confident that, even without new songs topping the charts, she remains in high demand, especially in Central Uganda.
In a conversation with Sanyuka TV, the Western Uganda singer shared that she continues to perform her timeless hits that made her a household name, along with a few of her more recent releases.
However, if there is one song that consistently fills her calendar, it is Tindatine.
According to her, the fee she receives to perform Tindatine is enough to book three of Uganda’s top musicians.
Reflecting on the impact of the song, Lady Mariam stated, “I no longer call Tindatine a hit. It is an anthem. An anthem for Western Uganda and Africa.”
When the discussion turned to newer Western Uganda stars like Ray G and Omega 256, and whether they had taken her crown, Lady Mariam quickly brushed it off with a spicy comment: “Do not mix beans with garden eggs.”
In her eyes, no other artiste has dropped a song that matches the power and staying power of Tindatine.
