Lanek Calls for Church Support After Disappointing Concert Turnout
Gospel singer Denis Lanek, who also serves as the president of gospel artistes in Uganda, was left heartbroken after his recent concert drew a disappointingly small crowd.
At one point during his performance, he paused, looked around the nearly empty venue, and pointed at the many vacant seats, visibly puzzled.
In a follow-up interview with Sanyuka TV, Lanek made a heartfelt appeal to Christian leaders and heads of churches, urging them to support gospel artistes, especially when they organise concerts.
He stressed that church leaders have a powerful influence over their congregations and can play a major role in rallying support for gospel music events.
He went on to explain that if every church in Kampala could send just 100 people to a gospel concert, it would be enough to fill a venue as large as Namboole Stadium.
His appeal is not just for himself, but for every gospel artiste trying to spread a positive message through music.
