Lillian Mbabazi Confirms Blu3 Is Recording New Music
Ugandan music fans have reason to celebrate, as Lillian Mbabazi has confirmed that Blu3 is officially back in studio and working on new music.
The singer shared the update during an interview with Sanyuka Uncut, where she also addressed recent claims that the reunited group no longer shares the strong bond it once had.
Blu3, one of the most influential girl groups of the early 2000s, split around 2008 before making a highly anticipated reunion in 2024.
Since the comeback, rumours have circulated suggesting that the trio only meets for performances and parts ways immediately after.
Lillian was quick to dismiss those claims, insisting that the group has remained close and creative behind the scenes.
Right now we are in studio doing new music as Blu3. We have been working on new music. It is not like we kept quiet. We need to add to what you already have, the catalogue. New music will be something nice.
Along with new studio sessions, Blu3 is preparing for an intimate live show with Dmaestroz Band at Premium Liquor in Lugogo on December 17.
Lillian described the event as an exclusive Christmas-themed experience.
In December we are performing at Premium. It is on the 17th of December. We will be performing with a live band, Dmaestroz Band. Christmas edition up close and personal. The venue has a capacity of 400 people, so it is very niche, so you have to book your tickets in advance. You have to get your table right now. Tables are at 1 million shillings and normal tickets are at 100 thousand.
With new music coming and a live show ahead, Blu3 is showing that their chemistry is real and active.
