Lindsay Lohan Reflects on the Price of Early Fame

Lindsay Lohan is looking back at her childhood fame with a new perspective.

In her March 2026 feature with Vogue Arabia, the American actress reflected on the intensity of becoming a global star at just 12 years old.

After breaking out in The Parent Trap and later leading hits like Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, Lohan’s career soared.

At the same time, constant media attention and personal struggles unfolded in public view.

With hindsight, she now questions whether enough safeguards were in place during those formative years.

Now I look back and wonder, ‘Why didn’t anyone just go and take me out of there, protect me more?’ You do not know how to do that yourself when you are a teenager.

She has described that chapter as both exciting and deeply overwhelming, noting that she lacked the tools to protect herself while navigating sudden fame.

Today, based in Dubai with her husband Bader Shammas and their son, Lohan says life feels calmer and more intentional.

She chooses projects carefully and feels more confident contributing creatively behind the scenes.

With age comes a different kind of confidence. When I was younger, I was not so comfortable saying how I felt about a character and being involved with the process of it. And I love that part now.

After years of turbulence, she now sees this stage of life as grounded, focused, and firmly in her control.
