Lydia Jazmine Confident December Fun Will Go On Despite Election Season
Uganda is moving deeper into election season, but some well known personalities believe the campaign period will not spoil the country’s busy holiday calendar.
Social scenes are already warming up for December, a month that usually pulls crowds from across the region.
Earlier this week, socialite Sheilah Gashumba shared her concern on X, warning that political activities could disrupt the festive period.
Her message stirred quick reactions among fans who wondered whether this year’s party mood might shift.
I hope politics doesn’t ruin this December for the entertainment sector because Uganda is one of top 5 African destinations to party in December 😫😫😫

Singer Lydia Jazmine later spoke about the topic during an interview with Galaxy TV.
She said Uganda has a unique ability to host many major events at once without losing energy.
According to her, Kampala regularly fills several venues on the same night because people always find something that suits their taste.
She explained that the city can hold concerts, family events and nightlife activities all at the same time.
Crowds move freely and still manage to enjoy whatever they choose.
In her view, this balance shows how much space there is for both entertainment and political engagement.
Lydia added that Ugandans enjoy celebrations but also stay focused on their work and civic duties.
For that reason, she believes the election period will run alongside the December season without any serious interruption.
From the time I have spent in Uganda and in the music industry, I know this is one of the countries where ten different activities can happen at the same time and still sell out. Kampala is the only place where you can find five concerts all sold out on the same night. It is also a place where some people are crying, others are dancing and others are eating. There is space for everything, so I do not think elections can stop people from partying. I also do not think partying can stop the elections. I believe there is room for both. Ugandans love to party, they work hard and politics is active. I believe everything will go on smoothly.
