Lydia Jazmine Opens Up on How Artiste–Manager Splits Should Be Handled
Ugandan singer Lydia Jazmine has shared her views on what should happen when an artiste and manager decide to part ways.
Speaking to Daily Soup, Jazmine stressed that the way people treat each other after a split is what matters most.
She believes that even if working relationships end, the contribution a manager made to an artiste’s journey should never be forgotten.
It really depends on how you have split and how you treat each other after the split. There has to be that mutual respect. There is where someone got you from and where they got you to, that you even feel fit to move on on your own. You have to give that person respect regardless of what happened between you two.
Drawing from her own experience, Jazmine revealed that she once parted ways with her former manager and producer Bushingtone.
However, she said the situation never turned into public drama, and they have remained on good terms.
The public never got to know about me and Bush. And everywhere I am, I just salute him. Me and him are good and we actually talk.
She also noted that not every split between artistes and managers is as negative as people often think.
According to her, some former partners still maintain a healthy relationship despite public assumptions.
I think even others are good. It does not have to be that people envy each other or fight each other. I do not, honestly. I think it also depends on the reasons they split.
Jazmine’s comments highlight her belief that respect and understanding can still exist even after professional paths change.
