M.I Exposes Hidden Money Behind Nigeria’s Music Industry
Veteran rapper M.I says internet fraudsters are secretly funding much of Nigeria’s music industry.
Speaking on the So Nigerian podcast, the hip-hop star called it a big problem that a lot of the money behind the country’s music scene comes from abroad and from shady sources.
M.I said this shows Nigeria is failing to support its own talented artists and urged wealthy Nigerians to invest more in the creative industry.
He pointed out that right now, it is mostly young people helping other young people financially in music.
He called for change and hopes Nigeria can do better in funding its rising stars.
