Maddox Explains Why He Has Not Dropped New Music in Years
Ugandan reggae icon Maddox Ssemanda Sematimba has finally addressed growing talk about his slow pace in releasing new music.
The veteran singer, whose last major album Abato dropped in 2006, remains active on stage but has kept fans waiting for fresh projects.
While appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, he responded to critics who have been questioning the gap.
Musically, music is always there as usual. We have grown up in music. We do music, and we are still doing music, and we shall continue to do it.
Maddox made it clear that music is still part of his daily life, even if he is not constantly dropping new songs.
Just because some people think I have delayed releasing new songs, they can still listen to those that are already there as we cook more and help others cook and learn how to cook music for the people.
He added that while he has many songs, other responsibilities are currently demanding his attention.
I have very many songs, but you have to understand that there are other things taking my attention that I do not want to disclose right now. There are other projects I am working on that also need attention and time.
Despite the long wait, he reassured supporters that his musical journey is far from over.
Music will be there forever, and thankfully, we are still feeding on what is already there, and others are too. So my people should rest assured and also be happy.
I take my time releasing songs because I have many projects that require my attention and time. Besides, music is here forever. – Madox#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/QCXNb07Q0H
