Malaika Is Not Obligated to Cook for Me, Says Gashumba
Frank Gashumba has come out strongly to defend his fiancée, Patience Malaika Mutoni, against critics who have had much to say since their introduction ceremony on May 16.
The couple has become a trending topic on social media, drawing all kinds of opinions about their relationship.
Addressing the ongoing chatter on live radio, Gashumba made it clear that he will not tolerate any negative talk about his partner.
He took the opportunity to not only defend Malaika but also shed light on how things work in his home.
According to Gashumba, Malaika is not expected to cook for him because that is not her role in the home.
He stressed that he did not marry a cook, and she is under no obligation to be in the kitchen.
“My wife should not be smelling like onions. I did not bring her home to cook for me. We have cooks who are paid to do that. If she ever cooks, it is because she wants to, not because she has to,” he emphasized.
He further explained the setup in his household, saying, “A maid prepares the food, and my wife may simply go to the kitchen to serve it.”
Gashumba concluded by saying that one cannot claim to have a palace when they have no cooks.
