Man Arrested for Posing as Kapeke and Taking Booking Money
A man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating Ugandan singer Kapeke and collecting booking fees from unsuspecting event promoters.
According to reports circulating online, the suspect contacted venues while posing as the singer and promised to perform at events in exchange for payments.
The scheme reportedly came to light after inconsistencies raised suspicion among promoters, leading to his arrest.
Videos shared on social media show the suspect inside what appears to be a police holding room, alongside Kapeke.
In the clip, the singer sits quietly while the alleged impersonator remains on the floor, appearing to respond to questions as he looks around the room.

Authorities are treating the case as fraud and impersonation, although they have not yet released the suspect’s full identity.
Fans now await an official statement from Kapeke as more details about the incident emerge.
