Marriage Proposals Should Have Expiry Dates, Shalom 256 Suggests

Ugandan YouTuber Shalom 256, born Shalom Kaweesi, has weighed in on how long engagements should last.

He noted that many couples get engaged but delay their wedding plans for years, and in some cases, the wedding never happens at all.

According to Shalom, a proposal should not be treated as a permanent arrangement without progress.

He believes it is not a final commitment and should come with a clear time frame.

He pointed out that some people remain engaged for more than four years.

Others were proposed to while still on campus and now even have children, yet a wedding is still not in sight.

In Shalom’s view, a proposal should move with purpose and clear limits.

Without direction, an engagement can turn into a waiting room instead of a step toward marriage.

A proposal is not a commitment. It is not forever, and it is not final. A proposal should have an expiry date. Some people stay engaged for over four years. They were proposed to while still on campus, and now they even have three children under that same proposal. I believe proposals today should have limits.
